It’s Saturday 2 April 2022, and Magaluf opens for Summer 2022. The return of the sunshine brought the first wave of visitors to Mallorca’s favourite party destination as the resort opens for the season.
After weeks of rain, cloud and unseasonably cool Spring weather throughout March, the bright sunshine we are more used to seeing here in Mallorca finally returned to the island.
Although a cool breeze blew across the island making temperatures dip to a cooling 12 degrees, this didn’t stop visitors to Magaluf from having a good time.

In this video, I see which restaurants are open along Magaluf beach front. I was delighted to see Tom Browns had already opened and offering great value full English Breakfast for just 3,65€ and a really good value dinner menu.
Heading down towards Bondi Beach the atmosphere was buzzing, I could also see people enjoying walks along the beach even though many were dressed for winter.
There were as many visitors dressed for cold conditions as there were those dressed for summer!
While Magaluf Square is yet to open, it was great to see a great atmosphere around Temple and Stereo bars.
Heading back onto the beach, Blackbeards Bar and Grill dominates the far end of Magaluf beach as the main and largest restaurant open in the resort. And the food is amazing and great value. Check out their Facebook Group here.
It was also surprising to see bars on Punta Ballena opening too. Mambos beach bar was buzzing and Tiger Tiger had a good crowd outside too.
Mulligans at the top of the strip was also busy. From here I took a walk down to Son Matias beach in Palmanova.
Palmanova felt a lot winder and cooler than Magaluf, but the beach still looked beautiful. It was great to see the Olive Tree restaurant was still open and busy even at 6pm as it was gearing up the evening ahead.

The weather forecast is looking changeable for the next few days, so pack for all temperatures. We are expecting to see a return to Spring-time temperatures on Thursday 7th April.
This is a great start to the season here in Magaluf Mallorca. If numbers are anything to go by, then we can look forward to a lively and busy summer here in the resort.
