To see the best Christmas lights display head to Paseo del Bourne in Palma city centre.
The entire city centre lies under a blanket of tiny tasteful, tiny lights and the location of so many stunning photos you will see taken of Christmas in Mallorca.

You will find beautiful Christmas lights on all the main shopping streets in Palma.
Check out the lights on Avenida Jaime III where you will find big brand stores and El Corte Ingles department store.

Even many Christmas lights decorate the side streets in Palma’s Casco Antiguo.
Over Christmas, you will see the huge illuminated Christmas tree in Parc de la Mar, which can be seen by arrivals by car into the city from the Paseo Maritimo.

This huge Christmas tree is also a great area to visit and is surrounded by fairground rides and market stalls.

And even Palma’s fountains get a makeover at Christmas. This is the main fountain at the bottom of Paseo del Borne in Plaza de la Reina.

In 2022, the Christmas lights in Mallorca will be switched on on 19 November at 20:00. They can be seen every evening on the run to Three Kings Day on 6 January.
Due to electricity-saving measures, make sure you see the lights before their switch off at 22:00 when the shops close.

Christmas Markets in Mallorca in photos
The best Christmas markets are in Palma de Mallorca.
In Plaza Mayor, you will find the best place to shop for figurines for a nativity set as well as other handmade Mallorca products.

In the Christmas markets, you can also pick up some traditional Christmas food including turrones, a type of nougat which is served throughout the winter season.

You can also buy sugared almonds this type of harder turron made from almonds grown on the island at the Mallorca Christmas markets.

Dried fruits or frutos secos are also hugely popular purchases, and on this market stall, you can see you can even buy dried hibiscus flowers.

Christmas Fairground Rides in Mallorca
Little children love Christmas in Mallorca as there are little kids’ fairground rides in most of the main large squares in Palma.
They offer a great stop from shopping for children wanting to enjoy the bright lights in the city.

There is also a lovely Christmas market in Puerto Portals selling because locally made and Scandanavian Christmas decorations.

Even at Christmas, it is possible to go to the beach in Mallorca, but just wrap up warm.
You will see residents enjoying long walks and even a few braving a swim.
