1. Hop on – Hop Off Bus Palma de Mallorca

The hands down best way to see Mallorca’s capital Palma is aboard the Palma city sightseeing bus.

Getting a ticket for the Palma City Sightseeing bus means you can be fast-tracked to all sights in Palma.

You can also get on and get on and off the bus as many times as you like depending how many days your ticket is valid for.

What’s more, an audio guide is available on the bus so you can learn more about the city and the atrractions you area approaching.

You can also decide to get off if you wish and explore further.

My recommendations are obviously to visit the Old town in Palma, and the markets, getting off at the Joan Miro Museum, and also at the Bellver Castle.

TOP TIP: Admission to any of the other sites is extra, but if you visit the Joan Miro musuem on a Saturday afternoon, it’s free, as is a trip inside Bellver Castle on Sunday.

You don’t even need to plan your trip. It’s just the the most relaxing way of seeing the city without the hassle of organising your day out yourself.

And if you really don’t want to travel into Palma to pick up the Palma City Sightseeing bus, there there is another option available too which will collect you from your hotel in the South West of the island.

Select the Cabrio bus open bus tour which will take you into Palma and show you the sights.

At the time of booking you can then go on to select either a boat tour, a cathedral tour, or just explore Palma for yourself.

Both these excursions are a great opportunity to get out of your hotel for a day.

Don’t forget too that if you would like to go inside Palma Cathedral to get your cathedral entry ticket here too. This allows you to “skip the line” and avoid waiting around in the hot sunshine in a long queue.

2. Soller & Island Tour

One of the best value and best rated excursions in Mallorca is the Soller and Island Tour.

Whether you care staying in the Alcudia or Palmanova (south west) areas of the island, you can book this fantastic tour to see and experience this side of the island.

This is a full day tour (8 to 9 hours) taking in Soller and the North Coast of Mallorca.

The tour is ideal you do not wish to rent a car, or navigate the public transport as you will be picked up and looked after for the entire day.

You will get to ride the Ferrocarril (the classical wooden train), and the tram, and then pick up a catarman to experience the tramatic cliff and clear waters of Sa Colobra.

You will have time to explore Soller town and Port de Soller and swim too off the coast.

If you would like to see more about this amazing area of the island, then check out my video guide to Soller here:

3. Palma Catamaran Cruise

There are so many boat trips to choose from in Mallora, but these are my recommendations for my favourite.

If you’re visiting Palma de Mallorca in the Summer, then do not leave the city without taking this amazing Catamaran cruise.

I’ve done this tour many times in the past, and it’s just the best experience if you only have time to do one boat trip and you’re staying on the south west of the island.

You’ll sail over to Cala Vela where the water is so turquoise and clear, that the swimming is some the best you’ll expereience on the island.

If you time your tour later for later on in the day, you can also catch the sunset on the way back, enjoy some drinks and great music.

You can book it here.

4. Dolphin watching Mallorca

The absolutely best way to go dolphin watching in Mallorca is to see them in the wild.

There are two great dolphin trips you can book leaving from Pueguera and Santa Ponsa and also from Alcudia which you’ll find just below.

There is another provider on the East Coast in Cala d’Or (Starfish Cruises), and you can see our experience of a dolphin cruise here too.

The boats will sail in the direction of the fishing trawlers where you will normally find the dolphins waiting for their catch of the day.

And they love to come and play in the wake of the boat.

5. Mallorca: Off-Road Quad Biking, Snorkeling & Cliff Jumping

Here’s one for adreneline junkies. This off-road quad biking, snorkeling and cliff junkie tour is massively popular for those bored with lying on the sand or basking by the pool.

Now you need a drivers license for this tour, but just read the reviews to see how fun this tour is.

You will need to either be staying in Playa de Palma for this excursion, or you can easily get the blue EMT bus to the resort from Palma centre (see the number 31, 32 or 35 buses) towards Can Pastilla.

The tour takes in quad biking over some amazing terrain, and to see some incredible views of Mallorca before cliff jumping and snorkelling.

You can book it here.
