So Christmas is already in full swing over here in Parma and in this video I'm
0:05
going to take you through the city we're going to have a look at the Christmas lights but most importantly I'm going to show you the very best places to shop
0:12
this Christmas season. So I'm starting my guide today over in the Parque de Estacions which is right behind the bus
0:39
station and the train station and we can see that they've got a fantastic Christmas market down here. Now of course it is very very busy it's also the
0:48
location of the giant illuminator Christmas tree which you can see in front of me. So be prepared for big queues if you're coming over here to see
0:59
the Parma Christmas markets this winter especially on the weekend as well and I
1:04
really do recommend getting public transport into town because already the car parks over here are very very busy. We've also got a nice little food area over
1:14
here in Parque de Estacions as well it's quite chilled out actually and relaxed
1:18
it's a nice place to stop for a meal I can see I've got plenty of barbecue food
1:23
here. Now this is a great area to come and pick up your Christmas presents and
1:28
some locally made gifts too. I think every single market stall holder in
1:33
Mallorca is over here at the moment for the festive season. Okay so let's leave the chaos of the markets in Parque de Estacions behind
1:44
let's head out into Plata España. So if you're coming here with kids that you can see on my left hand side we've
1:56
got a bit of a fun fair here as well but that's not all
2:01
The ice rink is back in Parma. We haven't seen the ice rink in central
2:07
Parma since 2019. This is another great fun thing to do if you're coming over to
2:13
the city especially if you're here with kids. As we come out of Plata España here look to my right and my left we've got
2:39
plenty of places to eat and drink down here but just look how busy it is this evening
2:57
But before we head on down to the Rambla let's head on down at Calle San
3:03
Miguel and this is the main shopping street. The top end of town here in
3:08
Parma is lined with branded shops and just these really pretty lights too
3:15
So to leave Calle San Miguel we're going to head on down towards the Rambla
3:39
So we've come on down to the Rambla which is just another wonderful shopping
3:45
area here right in the centre of Parma. Now this is normally the flower market
3:50
but over the festive season it comes alive with Christmas stalls which we're
3:56
going to take a look at now. So we've got plenty of Christmas shopping opportunities over here on the Rambla as
4:05
we can see here. So you can see quite a few people dressed as Santa walking
4:12
through the streets of Parma. If you want to find out what that was about then check out the video in the description text below. Okay so we're
4:20
going to leave the Rambla behind we're going to head on up towards Plata Mayor
4:27
So we're coming into Plata Mayor here. It's the one place we can pick up all the
4:43
figurines of your nativity sets at home. It's a good place to start building a
4:48
nativity scene too. You will have seen on the live streams that I came down here
4:52
you can pick up all the figurines. You can build something traditional and something a
4:58
little bit more fun as well. And to my left hand side as well that we've also
5:02
got a Father Christmas. If you're over here with children you may well want to visit
5:12
So Plata Mayor is just magical. I love the lights down here. They're just so
5:18
pretty. Of course it's a great place to come and shop too
5:39
Okay so from Plata Mayor we're going to head on down towards Plata de Corte
5:44
We're going to head on down to Borne as well and we're going to pass a lot of
5:49
other shops as well. It's the main shopping area right here in the centre
5:53
of Casco Antiguo. So the queues that you can see here right outside the Town Hall here in
6:13
Parma. Let's go and see the nativity scene and from now right up to Christmas
6:18
and beyond as well we're going to see these queues here. Go and check out the
6:23
video I made last year if you want to see inside. It's very pretty. This is
6:28
also the area as well where you come to for New Year's Eve if you want to celebrate the new year here in Parma come to Plata de Corte. It should be a
6:37
big night over here on the 31st of December. So I've got a few shopping facts for you if you're coming over here to see the
6:56
lights. The market stalls that will probably stay open till around nine ten
7:00
o'clock on the evening. You're going to find that most of the shops though in Parma rolling down their shutters at 8 p.m. so make sure you get here in good
7:08
time if you're going to go shopping. Some shops though may well stay open
7:13
until a little bit later. You are going to find the department stores open until
7:17
10 p.m. so if you do arrive late into the city at least you know you can go and
7:23
pick up some food because these department stores also have supermarkets too. So we're just coming out onto the Paseo del Borne here. There's loads of
7:31
entertainment going on the right through the festive season. It's all free. It's
7:36
down here on the Avenida. Earlier this evening we had literally hundreds of
7:41
Santa Claus line dancing all the way down that Paseo del Borne and right now
7:46
look we've got some more street entertainment too. These are also some of the prettiest lights you're going to find here in Parma
8:02
The whole of the Paseo del Borne is lined with shops. Make sure you take a walk
8:08
down here it's absolutely stunning. But we're going to turn around now and head
8:13
on down Jaime Trezeiro or Jaime Trez where we're going to find another huge
8:19
shopping street with plenty more shops too. So if you're looking for high-end shopping over here in Parma then come on
8:32
down Jaime Trez. You're also going to find an absolutely huge department store as
8:38
well. It's the second Corte Inglés that we do have here in Parma. There's a much
8:44
larger El Corte Inglés on Avenidas but this one that we'll do too
9:02
And so we've just come in behind the library and Espanol's museum to see one
9:26
of the most lovely light displays in Parma. Okay so I hope you enjoyed my walk through Parma this evening to have a
9:46
look at all the wonderful shopping areas that we do have in the city. I have got
9:52
loads more information all about Mallorca at Christmas not only on my
9:55
