Hi everyone, so we came up hiking in Sawyer today and we didn't exactly pick the best day
0:19
because it's been absolutely chucking it down with rain, but we're going to try and take a hike
0:22
up to the lighthouse in just a while, just waiting for the rain to properly stop
0:26
but in the meantime we're going to head into the fawn bakery day which is on the seafront
0:33
as well as being a bakery they sell hiking gear fine wines and also fabulous pastries
0:39
okay so it's kind of stopped raining a little bit so we're going to make the most of a rainy day
0:50
and start walking up to the lighthouse which is on the left hand side of the bay
0:54
so let's check out the views as we go follow the signs to the lighthouse S. Capgross and the Refugee Mouletta
1:34
OK so I can see where we going now We going to the lighthouse in the far corner Right the way up here
1:43
The lighthouse has been guiding ships since 1859 and looking at the coastline you can see why
1:54
As we walk up the hill, can I just thank everyone who has subscribed to my channel already
1:59
If you haven't done so, just hit that subscribe button to make sure you don't miss out on any of my videos coming from my favourite places in Mallorca
2:08
So imagine living in this property here
2:24
you come back for your Mercadona shopping and you have to climb all these steps
2:28
all the way up to the top to get to the house no thanks
2:32
I can't believe it, the sun's actually starting to come out, so that's fantastic
2:48
The rain's clearing and the views are getting even better. Okay so this must be one of the most amazing places to live on the island There some of these houses that we just walked past and you see them from the front and they have swimming pools and steps and they about like four or five levels high with amazing views across the bay
3:28
So on the side of this building here, you can actually see a staircase cut into the cliff's edge
3:32
and it leads to some little caves as well. I've just been saying to my friends how lucky we are to be living here in Mallorca
3:46
and even on a rainy day coming up to somewhere like Sawyer and seeing this kind of scenery
3:51
I mean it's just absolutely stunning and we never forget how grateful we are to have this
3:56
opportunity to stay on this island even though technically we can't get off it at the moment
4:00
but hey I'm not complaining So we're coming right out of the port now
4:12
looking right across the water and the clouds are kind of starting to clear up a little bit
4:31
There is actually a car park up here but it only takes about six or eight cars so I think
4:40
the best way of coming up here is actually by walking and also it's a little bit tight
4:44
on the roads as well with cars coming back in the other direction so my advice is walk
4:49
I mean the walk just incredible I so glad we made it Okay, so while you can't actually go into the lighthouse
5:07
you can come into this area here, which is, it belongs to the refugee, which is, it's like a little guest house
5:13
like a youth hostel, and you can actually come up here and stay the night. I came up here probably about 10, 15 years ago
5:20
with some friends and it's just a fantastic place. It's super cheap and you can stay here
5:24
for the night, wake up in the morning, see the sunrise and go for a quick walk through the valley
5:37
When you get up here as well there's plenty of tables and chairs and you can stop and have a
5:40
picnic and enjoy the views. So if you're feeling really energetic you can keep walking to Soyea which is
5:52
another hour and 55 minutes or you can also walk to Dea as well this way
6:00
Okay so we've got to the top we're gonna go and have a picnic now but this is a
6:04
fantastic place to stop and have a picnic it's a great place to come with
6:07
kids it's a great place to come for family you just follow the roads up from Sawyer and there's
6:12
not a lot of traffic even so it's a really super easy walk kind of whatever the weather as well
6:16
so I'll see you on the next one until then goodbye for now
