Welcome back to my channel Mallorca Under the Sun and today I am on the east coast of
0:05
Mallorca checking out the resorts of Siliot and Sacoma. Okay so I'm going to start my guide today over by the boatyard in Siliot and we're going
0:27
walk through into the resort and then through to Socoma. Now whether you're
0:31
planning on coming out here in the coming weeks or you're planning your holiday for next year, this guide will give you an idea of what it is like over
0:39
in these two resorts. Now I'm on the south side of the resort and I'm standing at
0:45
the very end of an absolutely beautiful beach and as you can see the water is
0:50
crystal clear and turquoise blue and it's absolutely perfect for families coming out here. Okay, so just to get our bearings, we are on the south side of
1:07
Calamilor which is located just on the other side of these hotels that you can
1:12
see out in front of me and we're going to walk over to the next resort which is
1:16
Sacoma. Now there are a number of restaurants still open here even at this
1:25
time of year and people are out enjoying the day as you can see by the amount of people on the beach
1:43
Now one of the best things they do at the beach bar here is a full English breakfast and you can
1:48
get two of them for just 10 euros. Bacon, eggs, sausage, mushroom and tomato, beans, butter, toast
1:54
tea and juice. Now you cannot say fairer than that. And just to give you an idea of how much
2:00
drinks are out here, you can get a bucket of five bottles of San Miguel for €9.90. And this is
2:06
down at the beach cabin. Now it's the middle of October and you can see that while the beach isn't particularly busy
2:21
It's actually literally the most perfect conditions to come out here for a holiday
2:27
I mean, it's not packed by any means, but there's plenty of room on the beach
2:32
Now, the beach down here isn't particularly big either, but there aren't that many people down here
2:38
which is also fantastic if you want one of those holidays where you just want to come and sunbathe on the beach
2:44
Now there are some really lovely looking hotels down here in Siyot
2:51
This is the Hotel Club Siyot And it's right behind the main beach here
2:58
It only a three star hotel but I mean it looks pretty nice to me And of course the views that you going to get across from your balcony across the sea here are going to be pretty amazing too Now in the
3:14
distance I can see the glass bottom boat taking off. They do have tours all along
3:19
here all the way from Cala Milor to Calabona as well and I have been invited
3:23
to go on one of these cruises and I will go on this next season right at the
3:27
beginning of the next season so you can see what it is like before you come out
3:31
here but tickets are available at various points through all of these
3:35
resorts around Calamilor. Now there are huge hotels all over the place in Siliot
3:42
and I'm standing in front of the Playa Morea as well and it's still open and
3:47
there's still people in here which is really good news for the resort that
3:51
people are still coming over. Okay so we've left the main beach and we're continuing on into a sea yacht. Now it may not
4:14
be sandy down this side of the resort but as you can see as we walk along there's still plenty of
4:18
places where you can sit down for the day if the main beach during high season is particularly busy
4:24
and there looks like there's some great snorkelling around here too if that's something that you are also into
4:32
Now there are plenty of other restaurants as you come further into the resort
4:38
At the moment they're all serving lunch. So just like in the video I made over in Calador a couple of weeks ago
4:49
You can see that the Mini Trenet also operates up here in Calamilor
4:55
And it does travel down from Calamilor to Sacoma and to Sea Yacht as well
5:01
So if you do want to travel through the resorts and you don't have a hire car
5:06
then this is the train that you need to pick up. And there are various train stops along the route as well
5:10
And there are timetables on these as well, so you know when to go and pick them up. But they do run roughly every hour, from about 10 o'clock in the morning until 9 o'clock at night
5:21
OK, so on this side of the resort, if you are looking for things to do, there is tons of stuff
5:27
We've got the Segway Adventures office here, so if segways are your thing, pop in here and book yourself a tour
5:35
Right next door, we have the Dive and Snorkel Ocean Edge shop too, so let me just go and check this out
5:44
Now they run snorkelling days here and diving days as well so if you are a paddy
5:50
diver you can go out on one of these dives or even if you just want to go out
5:54
for a snorkel as well that's perfectly possible. But even if you're not a scuba
6:01
diver yet the dive centre here offers a discovered scuba diving course for just
6:06
where you be taught the basics you get a certificate and you get to go out on the dive as well and that to me is pretty good value because it also includes all equipment rental too
6:20
And right next door to the dive centre you can rent bikes and scooters
6:28
and these little mini 4x4 things for kids as well so plenty of stuff to do down here which is really
6:34
good to see. So I've just stepped off the beach now you may think that Siyot is just another
6:44
touristy beach resort but I've got news for you because there's something worth checking out
6:49
just off the beach here. So I'm standing outside the Poplat Taliotic Centre in Siyot and come and
6:57
check out some prehistoric ruins that were uncovered here many hundreds of years ago
7:07
Okay so these ruins are completely free to walk around, they have various interpretation boards
7:13
as well where you can read more about what you're looking at. Now these ruins here date right back to
7:19
123 BC and they're extremely important sites in the Taliotic and post-Taliotic culture
7:27
So that means that they date back to the Bronze Age and you can see how the settlement once looked
7:33
and I think it is absolutely amazing that an entire resort has been built around these ancient ruins
7:40
okay so we're just coming to the end of the walkway here in sea yacht and i can see a sign
7:51
that says mega garden sarcoma so i guess this must be the crossover point to where we finally go into
7:58
sarcoma now the first thing i am greeted by as we come into sarcoma is a another lovely beach
8:07
okay so you can see that Sea Yacht lies right beside Sarcoma and the beach here
8:13
again is absolutely glorious now it is a little bit busier than over at Sea Yacht
8:20
but it is just as glorious if you take a look at the water behind me
8:25
But just like Sea Yacht, this resort has a wonderful promenade that runs right the way behind the back of the beach
8:41
And there are restaurants here too, as well as huge mega hotels
8:46
Now check out this hotel behind me. I mean, it is just enormous
8:50
just to give you the actual scale of the tourism well what it has been like down here in the past
8:57
obviously not this year but hopefully you'll be able to see a few changes next year with
9:02
tourism coming back with a bang Now as you come down the far end of Sakoma or Sakoma beach you can see that it does start to
9:24
empty out a little bit as we start to head towards the nature reserve
9:28
okay so I'm absolutely boiling so we're going to come down to the sea's edge and just check out
9:40
the quality of the sand down here and to see how warm the water is. Now the sand quality down here
9:47
it is powdery white sand and if you check out the sea as well, just like further along the coast
9:54
it is really clear and it's clean too. Now I'll give you a tip here, the more turquoise the water
10:01
is, the more clear the sea is going to be. So as you can see here, the water here is just pure
10:07
turquoise it's absolutely gorgeous and it's shallow too which makes this beach
10:12
absolutely just like Siyot absolutely a perfect for families now you really can get an idea of how busy it is over here at the moment in
10:28
the middle of October I mean the weather is just fantastic it can be changeable
10:34
but when that sun comes out you can see that everybody comes down to the beach
10:43
Now right down at the end of the resort as well you can see a huge THB
10:47
the Saqama, a Placha, a hotel which is enormous and there's a Burger King right underneath it
10:53
but there are a few other little restaurants around here too and I can see the trains just
10:58
gone by as well, probably taking people up to Calamilor. Okay so I have turned around now and
11:07
I'm heading back to Siliot where my car is parked. Now I have to say that I haven't been over to
11:14
Saqqomur or Siliot for many many years which is crazy considering I just live on the other side
11:20
of the island but I am really pleasantly surprised by what I see here. There are some fantastic
11:26
services there's some amazing things to do if you're coming here on holiday and the hotels look
11:31
pretty good as well so if you are thinking of booking for next year you can see what the beaches
11:36
are like and you can see the choice of restaurants that there are in the area so again it's something
11:42
I really wouldn't hesitate doing now you can also see that it is incredibly accessible for families
11:49
down here for the elderly too so I mean this really is such a family-friendly
11:54
resort that it's definitely somewhere that I would really recommend you come
11:59
to on holiday in Mallorca. Okay so I hope you enjoyed my mini guide to Sea Yacht and to Saarcoma. Thanks very
12:12
much for watching everyone and I will see you on the next video. Goodbye for now
